Number of days to Prelimaries: 2 days 6 hours 49 minutes 0 seconds
Its so weird to have Teacher's day celebrations just these short days before one of the major examinations in the junior college life... But hey, it happens this years. I still made some effort in presenting my teachers with some gifts though. But I also realise that the BEST kind of teacher's day gift possible lorz...
My mother is being irritating by reading this as I type. What-ever.
THe celebrations at AJ consisted of ACES and then a 2 hour concert. All was fine and dandy, with a bangla-hiphop hybrid dance by this external trainers from ACT-- (sory, I 4get the org name) and the follow up with the cutez photos of Ms Zhu, Ms Kong, and even Mr T. :) It was even such a nice surprise that I got a early bade prezzie from someone.
However this came to an end when the P. came on stage to pull everyone back to a superficial reality check. Ouch.
Rewind back to Saturday. "A Child's Touch" @ AJ auditorium was like super nice la! I can't believe that AJ could have such a nice SL concert lor. So pity to the people who didn't go XP. A 6 month old rock band that simplt put forth squeakly clean song in a nice sounding way, making some of the choir gals behind my seat self-high and screams. Then dance society put up two classic-themed performances, and guitar, harmonica and choir chipped in during the second half of the concert. So that's a super summarized version of what happened. Heez... have to make this sound so boring so as not to spoil such concerts by heavily criticizing them (anyway I gave 3.5 stars out of 5... job well done)
Oops. Back to the books ;)
Seb out.

Are you a what brain?
To you, which of the following is most like: 4+6
a. 2+3
b. 4 - 6
c. 9 + 1
d. Four plus Six
No peeking at the answers beforehand (or it'll be no fun at all)! Try to answer this question to what you best feel s the correct answer. It's supposed to help you identify if you are a left, right, or no brainer.
And this is what the results show... (take it with a pinch of salt though)
a. 2+3
Left brain and Visual. This response is a left brain choice because to reach this answer you need to employ explicit and linear analysis. 4+6 =10. This answer option (2+3) is equal to 5 which is equal to half of 10. This answer option also indicates a visual learning style. That is because when looking at the individual symbols on the page, you might have noticed that "2" in the answer is half of "4" in the original question and "3" in the answer is half of "6" in the original question. In other words, 2 and 3 are half of 4 and 6, respectively.
b. 4 - 6
Right brain and Visual. This response is a right brain choice because while math is still applied to reach the final answer, it is not used in the same way. Though the numbers in the original question were added, the numbers in the selected response are subtracted. This answer option also indicates visual learning because the same numerical symbols are used. The only thing that changes visually is the minus sign from the plus sign in the original question.
c. 9 + 1
Left brain and Auditory. This response is left brained because it requires a linear left hemispheric focus in the math equations. 9 and 1 also equal 10, the sum of the numbers in the original question. This answer also demonstrates auditory learning. Here's how. To get this answer you'd have to say to yourself, that the sum of the numbers is the same, though there's no visual similarity between 9 and 1, and 4 and 6.
d. Four plus Six
Right brain and Auditory. This response is right brained since the pattern of numbers is maintained — that is, 4 added to 6. At the same time, there were no (left brain) computations going on. You merely selected Four and Six as synonyms to 4 and 6.
Furthermore, since this equation can be considered the spoken equivalent of the original equation, this option demonstrates an auditory learning style.

Japanese who live till 113
DO YOU KNOW?
that more than 28,000 Japanese are 100 years or older today, up from a mere 1,000 at the start of the 1980s, in a trend attributed to a healthy traditional diet and a high standard of healthcare. (source: cna, http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/295002/1/.html)
It's really and aging society up there.
NOW YOU NOE :)

Lamentations
After school today I went to Macpearson's Road Post Office to drop off some mail. Though it was my first time going to that place, I thought that I could just mail the letter in to the PO box like the previous kinds of letter box through the slot that would go clink-clink... Would you think that it be quite justified to just put a letter into the PO box in the post office without a stamp, with the box just in front of you? NO... Its just a cold, shiny metal box with a little slot for the right kind of key.
>.<
haiz, where have the old memories gone to?
Sadly, I still had to pay $0.26 for a label such that I could trouble the auntie to put that letter to the PO box for me in the back room. I have heard that systems are supposed to keep everything in check and standardise everything, but sometimes things are twisted by this "red tape" and things are not as straighforward as it seems. The post office just made a small pile off me then... stingy, arn't they, just for that 26 cents with GST.
Another thing... I really wanna go and run again! WAAA :(( Its been dunno how long since I last ran, and truly enjoyed myself. Somre of the gals in class apparentlywent to sign up for the mass run... and apparently the Physics teacher also has signed up :( bummer that everyone's so into post-examinations scheldule already. Boy here still in mug.mode (bleahx)
I also miss Ulti frisbee at Bishan Park also. Damn the examinations la, and damn to myself... doin so badly and requiring help and almost every turn and corner. Miss going to concerts... just saw a promotion for the next installation "Soundwaves 2007 - singaPOPera" coming 31 august at the uni cultural centre hall. :( Even missed "the Reunion" by the ajchoir seniors too even though I had wanted to go and support them :(( Further on, my church's Children Enrichment Camp willl also be given a miss too because it clashes with the last days of my examination timetable. ARGH!!! Missed it for two consecutive years already :(((
Too many things to regret now... all for the 3 week long paper examinations. I have better do well then, to make up for all the time and effort put in for the results next year. However, first up, the preliminaries. Talked to weiqi about this and she innocently suggested that I score at least 3 Cs this time round ;p
Is that possible? I REALLY gotta start working for that goal then!
PS. Thanks for the shortened timetable, at the very least :)
Chows!!!

Army b'''s''''
Found this small piece of paper containing silly english questions which I did over at the Pasir Ris commando camp.
.
.
.
173) Pork is to pig as veal is to ...
a. calf
b. chicken
c. lamb
176) Opposite of "right" is the opposite of...
a. left
b. wrong
c. correct
180)Opposite of the opposite of "inexact" is...
a. casual
b. accurate
c. range
My answers to the above questions (if I remembered correctly) are:
a. honestly, I didn't really know how to answer this . What in the world was veal? Sorry lor, I not very high-crass. So in the end I asked around - quite openly - and made my choice.
b. quite duh...
c. It seems to be following the alphabet sequence... and this was quite lame. Don't they know that its a cardinal sin commit a dual-more opposites?! English grade for commandos FAIL... FAIL!!!
lol. I also just checked out the fabled DARWIN AWARDS sourced from xC. Apparently its all true, an award for "the survival of the silliest". heehee, check it out yourself :)

1000 days at open sea
Been catching up with this blog http://1000daysatsea.blogspot.com
smilez :) reminds me of all of us doing the same thing

L-O-V-E
What a shoik day today... basically waltzing my way through so far... but also have general paper and geography test later :(
I guess i don't really care. Laterwise, i might do some homework because I was quite slack during the past few HOLIDAys - was quite busy also with all the outings and stuff :))
Anyways.. got this story from theprettiz youying from the friendster bulletin; hopes to also spread the LOVE!!!
A girl went to a party and she ended
up
staying longer than planned, and had to
walk home alone. She wasn't afraid
because it was a small town and she
lived only a few blocks
away.
As she walked along under the tall
elm trees, Diane asked God to
keep her safe from harm and danger.
When she reached the alley,
which was a short cut to her house, she
decided to take it.
However, halfway down the alley
she noticed a man standing at the
end as though he were waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to
pray, asking for God's protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling
of quietness and security wrapped
round her, she felt as though someone
was walking with her.
When she reached the end of the
alley, she walked right past the man
and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in
the newspaper that a young girl had
been raped in the same alley just
twenty minutes after she had been
there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this
tragedy and the fact that it could have
been her, she began to weep.
Thanking the Lord for her
safety and to help this young woman,
she decided to go to the police
station.
She felt she could recognize
the man,so she told them her story.
The police asked her if she
would be
willing to look at a lineup to
see if she could identify him.
She agreed and immediately
pointed out the man she had seen in the
alley the night before.
When the man was told he had
been identified, he immediately
broke down and confessed.
The officer thanked Diane for
her bravery and asked if there was
anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the
man one question.
Diane was curious as to why he
had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him,
he answered, "Because she wasn't
alone.
She had two tall men walking on
either side of her."
Amazingly, whether you believe
or not, you're never alone. Did you
know that 98% of teenagers will not
stand up for God?
PS: God is always there in your
heart and loves you no matter what
"If you deny me in front of
your friends, I shall deny you in
front of my Father"
STAND UP FOR HIM

No. 100 post
This is apparently my 100th post on this blog. Yay!
So green-ed to know that im officially a centurian... To celebrate, this special post is exclusively being typed by me on a handphone with internet connection (:
Using a handphone to type feels like one extremely long sms ((: good practice for the thumbs though. Also really tempted to throw in all the special sms wiggles and shorties ~.- and such. Above all, its really fun to blog like this too!
But 4get youtube... There is not enough memory on the mini browser to load the videos :( what a down factor.
So, aside from harping about this, my day was basically spent sleeping. Yeah, really boring stuff. Where's my heart for studying? I wanna renew my soul...
I reliterate that im such a glutton for punishment. Im not doing my homework like im supposed to.. And my revision is gotta be in shambles real soon. And i have to miss school on one of the planned revision days to go for an additional vocation check-up. On certain days i won't mind skipping school, but the reality is that my school days are numbered.
Im going to miss being in uniform and meeting like-minded friends that share your passion in learning and having fun. I agree with mr H. that once jc life is over, it would be sorely missed, even about seemingly mediocre things like a school uniform would tend to bug you, as you have more choices of what to wear and that you have to decide on something fabulous so as to maintain a presentable image to others.
tick. tick. Time is draining out on me. -,-
Seb out.
